Family Photographer Maryland
Welcome to Your Summer Family Experience with Ginny Filer Photography!
I’m a Maryland family photographer based in Silver Spring, MD, and I love capturing joyful, natural connections during the season when blossoms and light are beautifully soft and the world feels fresh again. Whether you want outdoor portraits, backyard sessions, or relaxed studio vibes, I’ll help you create photos you and your family will return to year after year.
Hi, I’m Ginny
I focus on photographing families when they are most at ease, when connection takes over and the real beauty of the people and places in front of the camera shines through.
I am drawn to the love between families in all its forms. Big or small. quiet or energetic. simple or messy.
Every family holds its own unique story and deserves to be documented.
Sessions are centered around movement, play, and real interaction rather than posing, creating space for moments that feel genuine and joyful.

Why Weekday Sessions Work Better Than You Think
One of the best-kept secrets of working with a family photographer in Maryland? Weekday sessions are often better — less crowded locations, softer light, and more flexibility in timing.
Plan a "family day off" — book your Maryland family photography session, then spend the rest of the day doing something you'd normally battle weekend crowds for: a farm visit, bike ride, museum, or nature trail.
Take advantage of summer's longer days with an early morning or early evening session.
Ask about flexible timing — I can often accommodate earlier or later slots depending on your location.
“I couldn’t be happier with our experience with Ginny! Ginny was so friendly and kind, and her patience and skill with our son were unmatched. She managed to capture the sweetest smiles in every picture—something that’s no small feat! Our family pictures turned out absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend Ginny to anyone looking for a talented and personable photographer.”
