WHAT IS A “LIFESTYLE” SESSION

A lifestyle session captures natural moments of the baby and your family in your home.
This can be done at any point in the first few months, which allows a lot of flexibility in the timing and provides a little more personality to the photos!
I use areas in your home with good natural light (typically getting everyone on a bed works really well) or the nursery or living room.
I also have a studio space if you prefer not to use your home.

what’s included

The session includes up to an hour session at your home and all digital copies (70-100) of the photos that are lightly edited and delivered online for you to download and use as you please. (printing, social media, etc)

Lifestyle newborn photography captures authentic, natural moments between your family and your newborn in the comfort of your home or in our Silver Spring, MD studio. This style celebrates connection, natural light, and the real personality of your baby without stiff posing. We serve families throughout Washington DC, Montgomery County MD, Northern Virginia, and surrounding DMV communities.

PREPARING YOUR HOME

We will want to use the space in your house with the most natural light- no need to straighten your whole house (!) but focus on those rooms with really good natural light from windows, glass doors, etc. The bedroom also works really well to get everyone sitting on the bed together!
I also have a neutral studio space if you prefer not to use your home!

WHAT TO WEAR

Feel free to have a few outfits for baby. Also just a swaddle can be simple and cute. Parents can focus on solid colors so the baby stands out! (no super busy patterns). Siblings can be in anything that compliments baby. Textures, layers and accessories all play well on camera. Here is a link to some ideas!

ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS
I fully understand how vulnerable these sweet babies are, so I am happy to take any precautions to make you most comfortable. I am happy to wear a mask for anything indoors if you prefer- just let me know! I will not be bringing any props or blankets, so please feel free to have anything ready you would like to use.

BOOKING
To officially reserve a session date, I will send you a contract that you can sign online. Please provide your address, best contact number, names of everyone appearing in the photos and the ages of any siblings. (no need to share baby’s name if it’s still TBD or a secret!)
A 50% nonrefundable retainer is due at booking. An invoice will be sent online to pay with credit card.
The remainder is due no later than 3 days after the session.

  • Usually 3-4 months before your due date is a good time to reach out for available dates! Here is more info on timing!

  • It includes about an hour session and all the digital files following the session (typically 70-100 photos)

  • I have both options! My studio is located in Silver Spring, MD and I’m also happy to come to your home!

  • Sessions typically last an hour. Some are shorter, some are longer. The actual photos don’t take long, but we allow space and time for feeding, changing or calming the baby as we never know how they will be feeling that day! Patience is key.

  • Absolutely. Just be sure there is a place they can be for some photos without any furry friends. Unfortunately I cannot have animals in the studio.
