Each mini session includes camera-ready mini makeup with Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry, a fully guided 20-minute headshot session, and five professionally retouched digital images.
You do not need to know how to pose. You do not need to feel comfortable in front of the camera. That is my job.

About Ginny
Hi, I’m Ginny, a Maryland headshot photographer based in Silver Spring.
Most people who come to me are not naturally comfortable in front of a camera, and that is completely okay. With more than a decade of experience, I know how to give clear, friendly direction so you never have to wonder how to pose, where to look, or what to do with your hands.
My goal is to create a polished, approachable headshot that still looks like you, while helping the whole experience feel easier than you expected.
Valerie Hammer is a professional makeup artist and educator with 20 years of experience. After beginning her career at MAC Cosmetics, she built Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry around a simple philosophy: you should look and feel like the best version of yourself.
Val works with clients of all ages, skin tones, identities, and experience levels. Her natural, feature-enhancing approach is perfect for headshots because your skin still looks like skin and you still look like you, just polished and camera-ready.
She is friendly, supportive, and completely judgment-free, so you can relax and enjoy a little time in her chair before stepping in front of the camera.

Choose an Outdoor or Studio Headshot Session
Choose between an outdoor headshot session at Poplar Run Pavilion or an in-studio session at my Silver Spring photography studio.
Both options include the same camera-ready mini makeup, photography experience, posing guidance, and finished images.

Headshot mini sessions will take place outdoors at Poplar Run Pavilion in Silver Spring. This setting is a great choice if you want a polished and approachable professional photo without a traditional studio background.
Outdoor headshots work especially well for consultants, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, speakers, therapists, real estate professionals, and anyone who wants a professional image that feels current, recognizable, and like the person people will actually meet.
If the weather does not cooperate, the sessions will move to my Silver Spring studio.

Your $270 headshot mini session includes:

Finished images delivered in about one week
You will have the option to purchase additional images or the full gallery if you find more favorites, but there is absolutely no pressure.

Yes. Your session includes 20 minutes of camera-ready mini makeup with Valerie Hemmer Makeup Artistry. This is not a full makeup session - Val will provide instructions on how to come to the session and the areas she will retouch so you are ready for the camera!
