What I Learned Photographing Nine Unique Brands This Year

From law firms to macarons, here’s what stood out while photographing a diverse range of businesses in 2025.

This year, I had the chance to photograph some incredible businesses. Each one had a different story, audience, and vibe. But the biggest thing I noticed?

Every brand looks better when it feels like the person behind it.

Here are a few takeaways from this year’s branding sessions:

1. There is no one way to show up

Some brands are bold and playful. Others are calm and quiet. I worked in offices, homes, kitchens, studios, and even vet clinics. The setting matters less than the authenticity.

2. Confidence shows up in the planning

The more we took time to think through the story, audience, and goals; it showed in the photos. From wardrobe to location to energy, the prep work of the WHAT and the WHY made a difference.

3. People connect with people

(or in some cases, furry friends…) No matter the industry, people wanted to see the face behind the service. This creates trust. The client sees you, they know who they are working with and start to build that rapport. Your clients want to see you!

4. Small details help tell a bigger story

Monster Macarons brought delicious color. Divine Heart Enterprise brought intentional tools. Good Vets brought pups and kitties. What you include in your photos matters. Props, textures, and movement make the visuals feel more like you.

5. Growth looks different for everyone

Some clients were just starting out. Others were deep into their journey and leveling up. Wherever you are, your brand photos should reflect where you’re going next, not just where you are now.

To all the brands I worked with this year: thank you. It was a joy to help you show up clearly and confidently.

If you’re reading this and feeling like your current visuals don’t match where your business is heading, let’s talk. 2026 is a new year. Let’s get your brand ready for it.

Are You Ready for a Branding Shoot? 7 Signs You Might Be

If you're not sure whether it's time to invest in brand photography, here are 7 signs you’re closer than you think.

Branding sessions aren't just for "big" businesses. They're for anyone who wants to show up with clarity and confidence.

But knowing when to book your first branding shoot? That can feel like a gray area.

If you've been wondering whether it's time, here are 7 signs you might be more ready than you think:

1. Your Photos Don’t Match Your Brand Anymore

You’ve grown, evolved, or rebranded—but your visuals haven’t caught up. If your website or social media still reflect the old you, it’s time to realign.

2. You're Always Scrambling for Images

You need content for a post, a newsletter, or a client guide, and you’re stuck digging through old selfies or random iPhone pics. A brand shoot gives you a full image library to pull from anytime.

3. Your Website Is Lacking Personality

Templates and nice copy help, but if the photos don’t reflect YOU, it all falls flat. A branding session can make your site feel more real, more human, and more trustworthy.

4. You're Launching Something New

Whether it’s a new offer, a course, or a complete pivot, launches are a perfect time to update your visuals. It builds anticipation and gives you content to promote the change.

5. You’re Not Using Your Face in Marketing (But Know You Should)

You keep hearing people want to connect with the person behind the brand, but you don’t have any recent photos you love. Let’s fix that.

6. You Want to Feel More Legit

This isn’t about looking fancy. It’s about stepping into your role as a business owner and creating visuals that reflect your effort, care, and professionalism.

7. You’re Tired of Hiding

This one’s big. If you’ve been shrinking back, playing it safe, or waiting until you feel "ready"…consider this your sign. You don’t have to be perfect to show up. You just have to start.

A branding session isn’t just a photoshoot. It’s a step forward.

If any of this resonates, let’s talk. I’ll help you create purposeful, beautiful images that reflect the real you, with strategy behind every shot.
