Africa! | Kenya Safari through &Beyond
I don’t know how else to describe this trip other then absolutely amazing. It was our honeymoon (+ some family!) but this type of trip is best when shared! We saw so much- the “big 5” (water buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, rhino) AND then some. It was beyond any expectation I could have had, and our guide Fred was truly part of the family by the time we left! He was so wonderful and we learned so much about Kenya, wildlife and the Masai people. Pure beauty on every level. God is good!
A day at the Zoo!
One of my favorite places on a beautiful day in the city is the National Zoo! The lion den was especially interesting when a momma duck and her ducklings managed to get in the wrong place at the wrong time....thankfully the lions were too lazy to get wet, and momma duck herded her babies to the other side! But it was a tense moment!
Embracing my Inner Tourist
I'm not going to lie- I love being a tourist in my own city. So when one of my favorite friends from growing up comes to visit with her family- it's game time!
I don't pretend to know it all (please don't ask me about that random statue- I promise I don't know) but I can provide the resources! This time we tried the DC Duck tours! Every bit of fun as you can imagine. I HIGHLY recommend. (especially with kids!)
We also went to the Jefferson Memorial, the National Zoo and the US Botanical Gardens. All big hits! (for me too!) It was fun sharing my city with such great company!
