Emma + Ada | Mother and Daughter at home session

These two….one of my favorite annual sessions because Emma and Ada bring so much fun and creativity to every session! They come with a whole list of ideas of how to capture their sweet, silly and full of love relationship. We blow bubbles, dance, bake, read, swing, run, tickle and eat popsicles….what is not to love?? It’s pretty clear this mother/daughter bond is something very special!!

Preparing for your Maternity Session

Preparing for a maternity photo session can help ensure that you get beautiful and meaningful photos that capture this special time in your life. Here are some tips:

Choose your outfits carefully: Select outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident, and that show off your baby bump. Avoid clothing with busy patterns or logos, as they can be distracting in photos. Long, flowy dresses are always a win!

Schedule the shoot at the right time: The best time for a maternity shoot is usually between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, when your bump is large and prominent but you still feel comfortable and mobile.

Consider your location: Choose a location that is meaningful to you, such as your home, a local park, or a place with sentimental value. Make sure the location offers good lighting and is accessible for you. You can also do these at your home or in my studio!

Don’t stress about posing: I’m here to help you look your best and show off that gorgeous bump and your momma glow!

Props: I like to be minimalistic, but if you want to bring a few props, please feel free! Baby shoes, ultrasound photos, or a special blanket can all work well.

Older siblings: If you have older kids, we can definitely incorporate them into the photos and get some sweet photos of them with the bump. Just remember to be patient- it never works when you try to force kids to do anything!

Relax and have fun: Remember to relax and enjoy the experience! We’ll capture some great images of this special and unique time!
