Country Roads...Take Me Home... | West Virginia Wedding Celebration

It was so wonderful to celebrate such dear, lifelong friends out on a gorgeous West Virginia farm. Amber and Christian got married over a year ago (via Courthouse zoom) and this was arguably the better celebration with amazing friends and family on our good friend’s family farm. Despite an AirBnB horror story, we enjoyed a much needed parents getaway with amazing people and a picture perfect setting! Congrats again Amber and Christian!

Happy Halloween and Happy Fall!

It was such a fun Halloween at Night of the Living Zoo!  They opened the zoo for an "adult only" night of beer and wine in the park with food trucks, dancing, carousel rides and more!  It was a good time!  And I broke out an old costume dress from high school to go as a go-go 70's girl.  Complete with fun boots and a wig!

The next day we headed to Great Country Farms for some good old fashion fall treats and pumpkins.  We finished off at the Dirt Farm Brewery conveniently located across the street!

The weekend was rounded out with a wonderful afternoon with two amazing friends at the Creek's Edge Winery.  SO good and so peaceful out there!  Love it!

A trip to the Amish Auction

Amish country....such a fascinating and interesting culture! My parents live right near the heart of Amish country in Lancaster county, so I got a little glimpse of their world while visiting for Easter.

Our first stop was Obie's Country Store.  Wow.  It's been around since the the late 1800's and probably has not been cleaned out since then either.  Not for the faint of heart or the claustrophobic.

On our way back we stumbled on the Gap Fire Company's annual fundraiser auction.  Apparently the Amish auction everything.  From buggies, to knick knacks to lawn mowers to bathtubs- it was all being auctioned.  I tried to keep my hand down!  I've never seen so many Amish in one place- everyone came out for it!
