You Didn’t Miss Spring Photos (Even If the Blossoms Are Gone)

Think you missed your window for spring family photos? You didn’t. Even without cherry blossoms, this is one of the easiest, most relaxed times to update your family photos in the DMV. Here’s why now still works and how to keep it simple.

You Didn’t Miss Spring Photos

I feel like every year around this time there’s a little bit of FOMO.

“I think I missed it… the blossoms will be gone…should we just wait until fall?”

And I get it. The iconic cherry blossoms come and go so fast, and it kind of feels like that was the moment for spring photos.

But I promise… that’s not the only moment.

This Past Weekend Was a Good Reminder

I had mini sessions this past Saturday in Montgomery County.

There was a blooming tree nearby. And yes, it was pretty.

But the photos that actually meant something?

The kids giggling with their parents.
Everyone squished together laughing.
Those bunny sweaters…I mean..!!

That’s the stuff you end up loving later.

And yes, the tree is a nice backdrop, for sure.

Spring Is Still… Very Much Happening

Even without blossoms everywhere, spring sessions are kind of the sweet spot.

There are still all kinds of blooms sprouting up and showing off.
The weather is finally comfortable.
The light is soft and easy.

And it’s a little less stressful than trying to hit that exact peak bloom window.

Less pressure.
More breathing room.
Way more fun for your kids.

What Mom’s Really Want

But what most moms actually want isn’t some perfectly timed, perfectly styled session… they just want to have something from this season before it changes again.

This Is Me Making It Easy for You

That’s exactly why I offer these minis.

You don’t have to overthink it.

You show up, I’ll guide you through everything, your kids get to be themselves, and we get what we get (which is usually way better than you expect).

If You’re Like “Okay Maybe We Should Actually Do This…”

I have one more round of spring mini sessions on April 11, and there are still a few spots open.

It’s quick.
It’s easy.
And it checks the box without turning into a whole production.

Serving Families Around the DMV

I’m based in Silver Spring and photograph families all over Montgomery County, DC, and Northern Virginia. We keep things simple, whether that’s outside or in the studio.

You didn’t miss it.

You’re just deciding if you want to make it happen.

She Doesn’t Need Something from Amazon This Mother’s Day

She doesn’t need another Amazon gift this Mother’s Day. She wants to be in the photos—holding them, loving them, and remembering this season before it changes.

She Doesn’t Need Something from Amazon This Mother’s Day

(Silver Spring, MD Mommy & Me Mini Sessions)

Every year, it’s the same question.

What do you get for Mother’s Day?

Something thoughtful… but also useful.
Something meaningful… but also easy to order before it’s too late.

And somehow, it usually ends up being something from Amazon.

A necklace. A candle. A robe.
All nice. All appreciated.

But here’s the truth no one really says out loud:

She doesn’t need another thing.

What she actually wants… is to be remembered in this season.

The Part No One Captures

She’s the one taking the photos.

The one documenting birthdays, first days of school, messy mornings, missing teeth, and everything in between.

She’s in the memories—but not always in the frame.

And years from now, that matters more than we think.

Because kids don’t just look back to see what they looked like…
they look back to see who loved them.

Holding Them While They Still Reach for You

Right now, they still climb into your lap without asking.
They still reach for your hand.
They still fit perfectly against you.

And it changes quietly.

No big moment. No clear ending.
Just one day… a little less.

Photos are one of the only ways to hold onto that feeling—
not just how it looked, but how it was.

That connection. That closeness. That season.

This Is the Gift

Not a product.
Not something that gets put on a shelf.

But proof.

Proof that you were there.
That you held them.
That you were part of the story they’ll grow up remembering.

Family photos aren’t just for now—they become part of how kids understand their place in the world and feel connected to their family.

And that’s something that lasts a whole lot longer than anything in a box.

A Simple Way to Make It Happen

That’s exactly why I offer Mommy & Me Mini Sessions.

They’re designed to be easy.

No big production.
No pressure to have everything “perfect.”
No need to plan a whole family session.

Just you and your kids.
Exactly as you are right now.

Holding them. Laughing with them. Being with them.

For the Mom Who’s Always Behind the Camera

This is your moment to step in.

To exist in the photos your kids will grow up with.
To be seen in the way they see you every day.

Not perfect.
Not posed.
Just present.

Silver Spring, MD Mommy & Me Mini Sessions

With Mother’s Day coming up and you’re thinking about what would actually feel meaningful this year…

This is it.

A chance to pause.
To show up.
To capture something real before it changes again.

A Christmas Mini Full of Joy, Giggles, and... a Green Dinosaur?

Sweet Olivia stole the show (and a green dinosaur) during this joyful Christmas mini session in my Silver Spring studio. A warm, playful morning with a family I’ve known for years.

Some families feel like old friends. I’ve known this crew for years, and seeing them again for a Christmas mini in my Silver Spring studio was a highlight of the season.

Olivia showed up full of her sweet personality and led the session (and claimed a green dinosaur from my studio) as her own. Naturally, it ended up in the photos.

And honestly? It was perfect.

Mini sessions are fast, but there’s so much joy in letting kids be themselves. This one? All heart.

Thanks to this sweet family for the laughs. And Olivia, the dinosaur enjoyed his time in the limelight. He earned his moment!
