We had so many lovely women come out for our Mini Makeup and Headshot session in January! Here just some of the beautiful shots we captured- so much fun and so rewarding to help everyone feel good in front of the camera, thanks to mini makeup by Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry!

Reduced Price Headshots for Federal Employees | Silver Spring, MD

Supporting Federal Employees in Transition

I had the opportunity to offer free headshots to federal employees (or anyone effected by the new administration) who have recently been let go and are facing an uncertain future. It was a small way to help, and I was truly moved by how much this resonated and brought hope.

While I can’t continue offering free sessions indefinitely, I do want to make professional headshots as accessible as possible for those in need. For the next few months, I’ll be offering discounted studio headshots for federal employees at $150 (regularly $475)—a way to keep this going while covering my costs.

This is also extended to any Washington Post employee effected by the recent layoffs!

Hair and Makeup

If you are interested in a short 35 minute hair/makeup before your session, Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry is offering an $85 discounted session. Her studio is 2 minutes away and we could coordinate a date where you go straight from her studio to mine.

I know times are tough right now, especially for federal employees or anyone affected by the current administration’s changes. If you’re feeling the impact and could use a professional headshot—for LinkedIn, job hunting, or just to boost your confidence—I want to help.

On Thursday, February 13, I’m opening my studio for one day of mini headshot sessions at no charge (15 minutes each) for anyone in need. No strings, no catch—just a little something to support you during this uncertain time.

WHEN AND WHERE?

The headshot minis will be held from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM at Ginny’s studio in Silver Spring, MD. Make-up will be onsite!

COST - $270

Photography and Makeup billed separately. $105+tax ($111.30) due at booking

Vivian | Portrait Experience

It was a pleasure to meet Vivian and get the chance to take her headshots in my studio! She looked amazing (with the help of Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry) and we captured some great headshots for personal and professional use! Lovely Vivian!

Lauren Adesnik | Portrait Experience, Silver Spring, MD

I recently had the most incredible session with Lauren Adesnik - so. much. fun. We played around with a few different looks (after hair and makeup by Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry, part of the Portrait Experience) and one was a stunning, fabulous dress, where she also sang opera during the shoot! I felt so honored to get a mini concert!

Lauren is a classical vocalist (opera singer) as well as a cantor- Jewish ordained clergy. She helps people connect to Judaism and the larger community through music. She officiates all lifecycle events from birth to death and everything in between and also offers spiritual direction and meditation. She works with every age but her favorite are all kiddos from 0-18. Lauren is building Soul Full Jewish Journeys that will specialize in reaching and engaging those unaffiliated, untouched Jews, seekers on their own journey, or those who have had negative experiences with established Jewish institutions.

She clearly has so much energy and passion for what she does and I love how she expresses these passions in her life and shares them with the world!

And THAT. DRESS. We had too much fun I think! Thank you Lauren!

I recently had the absolute best time photographing Kristie, the owner of Need a New Nanny Yesterday, at my studio in Silver Spring, MD! Not only did she get glammed up with Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry (part of our “Portrait Experience”), but she also brought her infectious energy, making the session so fun and easygoing.

Kristie’s business specializes in connecting families with experienced, professional nannies who can start ASAP—often within 48 hours! Whether you’re looking for full-time, part-time, or even overnight help, Kristie has you covered. It’s all about peace of mind, and Kristie’s dedication shines through in everything she does.

I had the pleasure of photographing my the Meyerdirk family of Urban Brokers, the best real estate team! (in my unbiased opinion!) I’ve known Mark since freshman year in college, so we go way back. I can’t speak enough to the integrity and credibility of this group!

Courtney just exudes warmth, charisma and a genuine heart. I loved getting to know her last week in my studio as she got her hair and makeup done by Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry (@mizchynuhdoll) . Courtney runs the IG account @dcmoms - an amazing resource for local moms to find all the things they are searching for- community, content and guides. Child Model Headshots! | Sophie and Maks

Soooooo this was a super fun new focus- child headshots! I had TWO in one week and I absolutely loved doing these! It was a blast and such a refreshing change of pace in my studio! Meet Maks and Sophie.

Maks brought so much expression to his session. His playful nature and charm shone through in every shot.

Sophie totally had her moves down!! I gave very little direction and she gave me everything back. I loved all her creative ideas and bold demeaner.

Kids like Maks and Sophie are so genuine—they don’t overthink it. Their true emotions shine through, making for some really authentic and memorable headshots. It’s such a fun and rewarding genre to dive into!

I'm excited to share a quick glimpse into a headshot session with Danielle, a dynamic real estate agent with Northrop Realty.

Danielle started off in my studio my studio with a touch of nerves, but she fought through the discomfort (who really does feel comfortable in front of the camera?!?!) With some encouragement, we were able to get some great stuff!

Her session was part of The Portrait Experience, a collaboration with the talented Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry. Thanks to Val, Danielle looked amazing. After the studio, we ventured to the elegant Ritz Residence in Chevy Chase, MD. Surrounded by Ritz luxury, we captured stunning portraits that reflect her professionalism and style.
