Greece Vacation: Santorini

Lovely Santorini- my favorite spot on the whole trip!  The scenery was everything I had imagined about Greece- steep cliffs, blue water, white buildings with blue domes...it was gorgeous! The black beaches of Santorini: Our little studio hotel Sunset the first night I love doors! We rented a car to get around the island which was a HUGE help! The red beach This fun door was at the Santos Winery- so picture perfect! Donkeys!

We took a hike between the 2 main towns early the morning.  The views were breathtaking and worth the 5.5 mile hike! Ammoudi Bay!  This is where a lot of "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" was filmed.

Where Lena fell into the water!  :) "Sisterhood" photo!  Trying to replicate this! Delicious last meal! Our last day we took a catamaran sunset boat tour- it was gorgeous and we were able to get out and swim in the clear blue water.

Greece Vacation Series- Part 2: Mykonos

Our first island stop was Mykonos and it did not disappoint!  Our hotel was gorgeous and you walked right out onto the beach.  The weather was perfect and the white buildings were breathtaking.  By law they actually have to paint their buildings white once a year! Dinner at a garden terrace restaurant!

The beach view from our hotel We took a cooking class as Mykonian Spiti and Teta gave as an amazing and personal cooking class where we learned about Greek culture and food- it was a highlight for all of us! (and the best food by far!) Sunset by the water and the windmills- so beautiful!Mykonos is famous for it's nightlife, so we made some friends and participated in a little night life fun!

Greece Vacation Series- Part 1: Athens

In May I took a fabulous trip with two girlfriends to a bucket list destination- Greece!  As always, I took a ton of photos, so this begins a series of Greece blog posts to share our incredible journey to Athens, Mykonos and Santorini! Our first stop on our Greek adventure was in Athens.  We had some amazing meals- the first night overlooking the Acropolis was beautiful!  I definitely enjoyed the local Ouzo liquor, but it's not for everybody!

The highlight of Athens was definitely the magnificent Acropolis.  We took our trusty taxi driver's advise and waiting until early evening to go- when the sun was going down and the cruise ships were gone!  It made for incredible light for photography and it wasn't too hot!
