Chasing Giggles with Brooks and Bo at Rock Creek Park

Some sessions are calm. Others are fast-paced. This one? It was all energy, laughter, and movement.

I met Brooks and Bo and their family at Rock Creek Park on a gorgeous fall morning. The leaves had turned, the air was cool, and the boys were ready to go. And by go, I mean run. Everywhere. All the time.

Brooks and Bo were full of that good kind of chaos- the kind that makes for real, joyful photos. They ran in opposite directions, made each other laugh, and kept us all on our toes. And while they did everything but sit still, we still captured so much love and sweetness between them.

That’s the fun of photographing young kids. You let go of the idea of "perfect" and lean into the play. It’s in those in-between moments that the real stuff shows up. A quick hug. A shared look. Hands grabbing sticks. Legs mid-sprint.

Their parents went with the flow and trusted the process. And Rock Creek Park, as always, gave us that soft light and fall color that makes everything feel warm and alive.

Love these wild, unscripted, and full of heart sessions.

If you’ve got little ones who don’t stop moving, don’t stress. Those sessions often turn out to be the most fun and the most meaningful.

Cozy Studio Christmas Mini

Studio sessions are a favorite this time of year, especially when the weather is so unpredictable. The cozy comfort of the studio makes everything feel more relaxed, and when you have a little one in the mix, that really matters.

I had the sweetest session with a family and their son.

The beauty of a Christmas mini is that it’s short and sweet, which is perfect for little ones. We can get everything we need in a small window of time without overwhelming them.

Thank you to this sweet family for bringing your joy and energy into the studio. I loved capturing this season of life for you.

Roberts Family | Spring Mini Session, Clum Kennedy Park, MD

There’s something so special about watching a family grow through the years, and the Roberts family has been one of those extra sweet stories for me. I’ve been photographing them for over six years now (!), and I always love our time together.

This spring’s session was especially fun because we were celebrating Theo turning four! I still remember when he was just a baby in his parents’ arms, and now he’s all personality, curiosity, and a bit of goofiness (my favorite).

And this time, the family brought along their dog, Weller—who totally earned a gold star for being such a good sport! It’s not always easy getting everyone to cooperate during a photo session (especially when fur + kids are involved), but they all nailed it.

The trees were still blooming, and found some beautiful soft light to play in. And of course cupcakes at the end. YUM.
