Chasing Giggles with Brooks and Bo at Rock Creek Park
Two joyful little brothers, a perfect fall day, and all the running and laughing we could handle. This Rock Creek Park session captured childhood in its purest form.
Some sessions are calm. Others are fast-paced. This one? It was all energy, laughter, and movement.
I met Brooks and Bo and their family at Rock Creek Park on a gorgeous fall morning. The leaves had turned, the air was cool, and the boys were ready to go. And by go, I mean run. Everywhere. All the time.
Brooks and Bo were full of that good kind of chaos- the kind that makes for real, joyful photos. They ran in opposite directions, made each other laugh, and kept us all on our toes. And while they did everything but sit still, we still captured so much love and sweetness between them.
That’s the fun of photographing young kids. You let go of the idea of "perfect" and lean into the play. It’s in those in-between moments that the real stuff shows up. A quick hug. A shared look. Hands grabbing sticks. Legs mid-sprint.
Their parents went with the flow and trusted the process. And Rock Creek Park, as always, gave us that soft light and fall color that makes everything feel warm and alive.
Love these wild, unscripted, and full of heart sessions.
If you’ve got little ones who don’t stop moving, don’t stress. Those sessions often turn out to be the most fun and the most meaningful.
A Fall Family Session Filled with Play and Laughter
This sweet fall session had everything I love most about family photos. Real smiles, kids running around, and a few favorite toys that made the session feel perfectly them.
Fall is one of my favorite times to photograph families. The light feels softer, the air is cooler, and everyone seems to relax a little more. This session had all of that and more.
Teddy showed up with his baseball and didn’t waste a minute getting started. The girls brought their dolls and were quick to show them off before running off to play. It was exactly the kind of energy that makes these sessions so fun to photograph.
Most of the time, the kids were in motion. Running, laughing, exploring. Those are always my favorite moments. The ones that happen in between. Parents watching, kids doing their thing, and everyone just enjoying the time together.
The leaves were starting to turn, and the sun gave us that warm golden light that makes fall so pretty. We didn’t need anything fancy. Just a family being together and a few toys that made the kids happy.
By the end, we had a gallery full of smiles, movement, and the kind of photos that remind you what this stage of life feels like. Messy, full of energy, and completely worth remembering.
