Winter Sessions | 2025 Winter Photo Session ideas

With the temps going down, and the new year around the corner, it's time to talk winter sessions!

Winter has its own kind of magic for photos— soft natural light, a quieter (sometimes!), and that cozy, bundled-up feeling that makes you want to hug a bit tighter. And since my winter sessions are priced a little lower, it’s a great chance to snag some beautiful, heartfelt memories….(especially if maybe this fall/holiday season got away from you!)

DOCUMENTARY

Think more documentary and less photo shoot.
Pick a fun, at-home (or out door!) family activity and let me document the natural playfulness and love that enfolds as you laugh, play and interact with one another.  Baking, reading, making pancakes, playing board games…

UNIQUE LOCATION

Think of a cool indoor location that fits your family.  Looking for ideas?  I got 'em.  Some DC museums allow photography, pick your favorite coffee shops, library or even your own home.

PJ PARTY

“Bedtime stories.”  This is popular with Christmas pjs, but why not embrace the cozy, snuggly feel of the family relaxing together in cozy clothes on the bed or snuggled on the couch together?  Feel the warmth and love through those sweet moments!

STUDIO SESSIONS

Studio session- my studio in Silver Spring (20906) offers a lot of variety if you don't want to use your home- from basic backdrops to a cozy bed to snuggle on- I can customize the “look” for your family! (and, it's warm…)

HEADSHOTS

Winter is also a good time to finally refresh that headshot you keep telling yourself you're going to get to.  Start the new year off right! I've got lots of options for my studio or on location!

TREAT YOURSELF

Momma's- as a reminder, for any of these sessions you can feel like the absolutely amazing person you are with professional hair and makeup.  I promise it makes a difference.  I highly recommend my friend and neighbor Val of Valerie Hammer Makeup Artistry.

Any of these spark an idea (or if you have other ideas!) let me know and I'd love to see you this winter!
